About

A passionate storyteller.

My first self-published story was crafted on folded A4 paper and delicately hand-stapled together at the ripe ol’ age of five — with Crayola cover art to boot. Classics such as “Auntie Nana” and “The Mirror” remain too ahead of their time even today, and I fear the world may never be ready for them.

Fast forward to my late childhood and early teens, and you’ll find the underneath of my mattress lined with memoirs of betrayal, deceit, and unrequited love for the boy next door. Sigh. It never was meant to be.

Luckily, I found the desire to continue to pen outside of my childhood fancies, and even went on to pursue literature at Trinity College, Dublin some years later. During my Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and French, I fell in love with storytelling all over again; my focal point being the intersection of short-story fiction and non-fiction writing.

And so it is you find me today, crafting all things food, health and beauty, personal finance, and lifestyle. I’m incredibly lucky, and what a ride it’s been.

If you’d have told me at 23-years-old, freshly arrived in NYC intent on pursuing a career in publishing, that I instead would initially find purchase in financial journalism in a country whose economic system I’d never even experienced, quite frankly I would have knocked you out.

My time as associate editor and senior email marketer at CentSai and executive producer of SheVentures Podcast challenged me, helping me find new ways to present this tricky and often taboo subject in a mode that’s not only educational, but relatable and meaningful. These roles showed me who I am when presented with hurdles, and how quickly I can learn on my feet — using my penchant for storytelling to narrate complex topics.

Then, bringing my passion to print as senior editor at Foundry 360, Dotdash Meredith’s award-winning content marketing studio, with work on brands like Millie Magazine (a lifestyle mag all about women) and Mosaic (a lifestyle and design mag) I got to focus on helping women improve their lives. Learning a new medium of storytelling broadened my horizons greatly, and I relished each day that dawned.

Now, I’m on a slightly different — but still story-driven path — at Food52, one of the most popular and community-driven food and lifestyle platform. I am so excited by this opportunity.

I’ve discovered that storytelling is not shackled to any one subject, topic, or mode — it knows no bounds, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me next.
